Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before purchasing and using Terminus.

Last updated: July 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, purchasing access to Terminus ("the Software"), or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not purchase, install, or use the Software. Your purchase and continued use of the Software constitutes your acceptance of these Terms.

2. Description of service

Terminus is a utility modification for Minecraft that provides various gameplay enhancements and features. The Software is designed to work across multiple server platforms and provides users with additional capabilities within the Minecraft environment. "The Services" means the Software together with the launcher, this website, and the account, licensing, and support systems behind them.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the Services. When you register you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and keep it current
  • Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for everything done through your account
  • Register one account for one person; accounts are not transferable

We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being abused.

4. License and usage

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Terminus for personal use only. You may not:

  • Redistribute, sell, or lease the Software
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Use the Software for commercial purposes (including, but not limited to, offering paid services, monetizing gameplay, or using the Software in any for-profit context) without our explicit written permission
  • Share your license with others or allow unauthorized access

Media content: you may create and share media content (such as YouTube videos or livestreams) that features the Software, provided that such content does not:

  • Reveal embargoed features (see the Beta Access and Embargo section)
  • Misrepresent the Software or violate these Terms
  • Monetize, resell, or distribute the Software itself

5. Devices and license enforcement

Your license is bound to your hardware to prevent sharing. The Software and launcher read a device identifier when you sign in, and access from an unrecognized device may be blocked until you reset the binding from your dashboard. Deliberately circumventing device binding, or passing one license around several people, is a violation of these Terms and grounds for termination without refund.

6. User responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your use of Terminus and any consequences thereof. You agree to:

  • Use the Software at your own risk
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Respect the terms of service of any servers you connect to
  • Not use the Software to harm others or engage in malicious activities
  • Understand that use of modifications may violate server rules

7. Server compatibility and risks

Terminus is designed to work with various Minecraft servers, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all servers. Many servers prohibit the use of client modifications, and using Terminus may result in:

  • Account suspension or banning from servers
  • Loss of in-game progress or items
  • Restricted access to certain game features

You acknowledge these risks and agree that we are not responsible for any consequences resulting from server enforcement actions.

8. Updates and support

Releases ship on multiple channels (such as stable, canary, and nightly), and your license determines which channels you can download. We strive to provide updates that maintain functionality and security. However, we reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue features at any time
  • Change the Software's functionality through updates
  • Skip regular updates and move directly to stable releases at our discretion
  • Provide beta access to certain users ("Trusted Beta") who may receive early or experimental features
  • Provide support on a best-effort basis
  • End support for older versions of the Software

9. Beta access and embargo

Access to pre-release or beta versions of Terminus (the "Trusted Beta" program) is by invitation only and subject to additional rules:

  • Embargo: any features, updates, or information provided to Trusted Beta users before public release are strictly confidential and under embargo. You may not share, publish, or disclose any embargoed features or information in any form (including screenshots, videos, or descriptions) until the embargo is officially lifted by us.
  • No guarantee of release: we reserve the right to modify, delay, or cancel the release of any beta features, even after an expected release date or "drop time." Embargoed features may never be released publicly.
  • Removal from beta: we reserve the right to remove any user from the Trusted Beta program, or blacklist them from the Software entirely, at our sole discretion, especially in cases of embargo violations or actions that could harm the project or its users.

Media creators who are granted Trusted Beta access must adhere to the same embargo and confidentiality rules as all other beta users.

10. Payment and refunds

Terminus is offered as a one-time purchase with lifetime access. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors (card payments and cryptocurrency); we never see or store your full card details. Promotional codes apply at checkout and have no cash value.

All sales are final, and we do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law. Where you have a statutory right of withdrawal, such as the 14-day right in the EU, you consent at checkout to immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that the right is lost once delivery begins. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute instead of contacting support is treated as abuse and results in immediate termination of your license. By purchasing, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand the risks associated with using client modifications
  • You have read and agree to these Terms of Service
  • You are purchasing the Software in its current state

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the Services collect and why. It is part of the deal you accept by using the Services.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13. Limitation of liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

14. Modifications to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.

15. Termination

We may terminate your license to use Terminus at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.
